Friday Follower - Mel

With all the cool weather that has been lingering in our parts, I'm sure you will be delighted to meet this week's lovely Friday Follower, Mel Paton who creates stylish crocheted accessories.

Who is Mel P Designs?
Mel P Designs is me, Mel Paton. I'm a 32 year old part-time teacher, part-time designer from Perth, Western Australia.

What products do you make and sell?
Hand crocheted accessories such as fingerless mittens, hats, scarves, jewellery, leg warmers, ipod covers and tea cosies.

What inspires you?
Vintage patterns and fashions from the past but also street fashion and edgy modern design.

Is Mel P Designs a full-time occupation for you?
It's a part-time occupation for me. I'm also a primary school teacher. I used to be a full-time teacher but just this year I've reduced my hours to put more time into Mel P Designs. I love both jobs!

Would you share something interesting about you that isn't common knowledge?
I have a terrible phobia of heights, hate the feel of cotton wool and eat the same thing for lunch every day.
