Playing and Planning

Our new studio looks like it will be delayed for a while but I don't want to anger the (council) gods so instead I will focus on happy things.

Voyt is my clever husband and quite the linguist for those who don't know him. He is perfectly fluent in 4 languages and then speaks a little of this and that. So what is the point of me telling you this? Well, he has been communicating directly with linen factories in Europe and soon we will be importing our own natural linens.

Oh joy! No more depending on local suppliers who don't have stock when we need it and the extra cost savings will allow us to wholesale the plain fabrics too.

Getting all of these yummy samples is so much fun! Do you get as excited when you receive swatches?

I just want to frame these dyed yarns.

And what is this? It's a country cottage situated somewhere in Queensland and where I will be hiding out for the rest of the week. You won't find me as it's located on over 400 acres of land!

I'm looking forward to playing around with new designs and just chilling out. Just the husband, dog and me. I am planning to blog on autopilot so let's hope that all posts appear as scheduled.

I'll share my getaway and visit you all when I return.

Voyt is one of those people that make me feel inadequate. What a clever man and how fortuitous it seems with business negotiations. Enjoy your break, looks like a wonderful place to forget about the rest of the world for awhile. x

Those linens look lovely Thea! And so sorry I didn't make it to your open day, but you know how it is - life gets in the way sometimes. Have a wonderful time at your country retreat, and make the most of the peace and quiet - I know I would! K xx

Good on you, don't let Council get you down. I have shed far too many tears over council matters in the past - so not worth it. I hope you enjoy your break Thea. Count me in to buy some of those yummy linen fabrics. They are stunning, such pretty colours. Voyt is a very handy sidekick indeed.

Colour swatches do it for me every time Thea! I especially love coming home with colour cards from the paint shops *sigh*

They're a great inspiration and often help me put "themed" pieces together for shows and exhibtions.
