Time Well Wasted

I really look forward to my daily hospital visits! It's true although this was not always the case as I much as I love my man (hello Honey) but all that changed when I began working on this...

my Robin Needlepoint cushion cover. I find it so relaxing to do and really only take the time to do so during those hospital visits so I'm hoping that the patient isn't discharged before I've finished (am I bad?).

I didn't even mind hanging around in the Radiology waiting room for 2 hours yesterday. My craft activity even served as the conversation starter with a dear retired builder who was bored waiting for his own appointment. He explained that his wife is an avid quilter and I received some invaluable advice about dealing with my damp closets.

Do you have a secret activity that you enjoy, perhaps with an ulterior motive?

Oh yes, when we move house i take hand sewing & craft, embroidery is perfect, so when we're in a hotel with nothing to clean or garden or work, i sew, i love it!! When we get the call to move into the house & start unpacking, it's all over for carefree hand sewing, you know, after starting my new life, world, home again. Love Posie

It is gorgeous Thea!
I was just lying in bed with my girls reading them a bedtime story and watching a robin splash about in a puddle of water. Divine! I hope your hubby feels much better soon.

I have about twenty of 'em - all portable handcraft and all involving kid pick ups and badly pretending to be a put-upon kid taxi service (who always arrives ten minutes ahead of time).

Gorgeous work T.

Love the Robin Thea. I hope your hubby is on the mend.
I love sitting by the pool during swimming lessons crocheting.
I just have to look up occasionally, catch their eye and wave.
It is win/ win....

Oh that's such a lovely little Robin!! He looks just beautiful.

As for a sneaky indulgence ... it's probably when I take a half-day off work to sort the garden and have the dog washed once a fortnight ... while the 'professionals' are doing their thing, I sneakily get some blogging done! ;)

I really hope for your husband's speedy recovery! Needlepoint finished or not. hehe
It's beautiful and I love the aviary theme. I'm so glad you found something to give you some peace and joy at this difficult time.
One of my hobbies is riding my bike through my neighborhood and fantasizing about owning one of the beautiful homes I pass along the way. It's not quite as productive as yours but at least I get some exercise. lol

That is gorgeous!

Yes! When Wayne was in hospital I used to take along either hand stitching or kimonos to unpick. I used to laugh that he thought he could escape my crafty mess, but it just kept on following him. I'd often stitch flower brooches and ended up having a few ordered by the nurses :)

Cross stitch is so relaxing! I love reading myself to sleep at night, and of course painting (but that's pretty much an everyday activity!). On holidays I tend to buy one of those big crossword/puzzle magazines and take the time to fill those out...something I wouldn't normally have the time to sit down and do.

The birdy is so cute! What are you going to do with him?...

Hi Jaz, the cushion is sitting on the sofa . I'm determined to fill our home with hand-made goodies. x
