High Societea
This is what Business Research and Development looks like. Last Monday, I invited a lovely group of ladies to be my focus group and offer their much-valued opinions on what styles and fabrics they would like to see in future Thea & Sami collections. Treating the group to morning tea at High Societea at Clayfield was smarter (and more fun) than paying big bucks to a research company or randomly making fashion samples and hoping for the best.
From left to right (above) we have Kelley, editor of the soon-to-be-published Peppermint Mag (Eco-Fashion); Kelly-Ann owner of Bliss Ecowear in Paddington, Brisbane and Christine, wedding planner extraordinaire.
Below, from left to right we have moi; Lisa, creator of Beautiful Baskets; Bettina, event-planner at the Mt. Coot-tha Botanic Gardens and Alyssa, owner of Lyssy May.
My big exciting news is that I was selected as one of only 12 new designers from Australia and New Zealand to participate in Debut at Fashion Exposed in Melbourne in September. This will be our opportunity to showcase our 2nd collection to thousands of potential buyers without paying trade show fees. The collection will be for Autumn/Winter 09 and all fabrics used will be either organic or sustainable. We are creating smart casual Eco-Fashion.
