Just For Fun Knits

Spending a good afternoon searching for new knitting patterns on Monday lead me to the discovery of these just-for-fun creations. The knitted wig was inspired by bright acrylic yarns often found in craft stores. The designer is Megan Reardon and you can find the free pattern on knitty.com here at Hallowig.

This other fun project was also found at the knitty.com site and is modelled here by the designer Astor Tsang. The knitted hair in rollers really brings back childhood memories when older ladies were seen walking around like this all day.  As Astor points out, it's ironic that they were trying to become beautiful when half the town had already observed them in this sorry state.

Find this pattern here at Desperate Housefrau. Photos are courtesy of the designers.

What is the craziest thing you have knitted?

I never successfully knitted much, but I would love to give that hot pink wig a go. I love the shape. Great find!

Yeah, we should all knit one in different colours - although I do love the pink!
