String Art

I love string art! My home seems to be filled with found vintage treasures and I am especially partial to crafts from the 70's.

I found this wonderful framed string art a few years ago in "The Elegant Garage Sale", a lovely consignment store in Toronto, Canada. The wooden boat with its golden thread sails is backed onto black velvet; very much in vogue at the time.

I was delighted to find these lovely earrings; miniature works of string-art from NOOK a couple of weeks ago. I love purple and silver so of course I had to buy them. They are from American designer Three5Eighty5 and are available in other colour combinations too.

Wow! Isn't it gorgeous? I saw a lot of this when I was in Mexico, and would so love to take a class in it!

That would be great. And whatever happened to macrame? That would be a great skill to bring back.

That picture brings back memories from childhood! Growing up in the 70's - (I was very, very young then)!!! I was always fascinated by the lovely coloured strings!

I just couldn't do that I always got in a tangle. Nice to see someone is doing it again with a fresh twist.
