Summer Chairs

This is the director's chair that I sat on last Sunday at the Portside Boutique Markets. You may well be asking if there is a point to this. Yes, there is. The chair is featuring our new "Airlie Beach" design, hand-printed on 100% organic cotton canvas. It is one of our fresh, eco-interior fabrics coming very soon.

I am pleased to say that the chair's seating was able to withstand my weight which is quite impressive considering that we didn't use an industrial machine. I just love coming up with new colour names and have called this ink shade 'Deep Sea Blue'.

My old Ikea wicker chair has also been given a new lease on life starting with a coat of white paint. The comfortable, thick seat pad was cut from high-density foam at my local Clark's Rubber store.

The yellow and white striped canvas really reminds me of a summer holiday. I would appreciate any help in naming this shade of yellow. I was thinking along the lines of 'Sunny Yellow' but it doesn't sound quiet right so I am open to your suggestions.

Thea & Sami will be hosting a product launch in our Capalaba studio on Tuesday, September 8th to unveil the range of hand-printed organic fabrics for interiors. The evening will include a fabric printing demonstration.

Invitations will be mailed out shortly so please contact me if you are an interior designer interested in attending.

Loving the stripe Thea. How about a summery dessert of lemon sorbet; banana paddlepop; lemon tart or lemon and coconut cream? m xo

Hey there creative wonder woman! How's about "sunny side up"??? Love your chair make over - you've just given me another "to do" project. Thanks Thea -(let us know what you decide to name it). Peta

'Sunny side up' is cute too. I think it would be fair to point out that I don't do the sewing; I have enough to do! I pay Emily to do that. She's better at sewing but I'm better at screen-printing.

Wow, your fabrics look fantastic on those chairs! They are so summery and fresh. Now I am day dreaming of a beach cottage with furniture upholstered with your amazing fabric. :)

Elisa, I would be stoked if my fabric was covering a chair at a beach cottage on the other side of the world!
