Judging by my lovely flea-market finds this week, letter writing is a dying art. In this age of fast living, who doesn't use emails, mobiles and social network sites to connect quickly to friends and family?
Will electronic messaging ever really replace the personal joy of receiving a hand-written letter or thank-you note? I like to write little notes of thanks to new clients and friends and how much nicer to do so on pretty stationery instead of scrawling on scrap or computer paper. I certainly don't have an excuse when I was lucky enough to pick up 3 unopened stationery sets for a mere $2 each from my local thrift store last week.
I'm a sucker for pretty packaging too and will definitely keep these boxes for future storage when empty.
And I was thrilled to find this unopened packet of Gardenia perfumed drawer liners for $1.50. I use liners in all my clothing drawers and the aroma lasts for years. Well, I'm happy with my flea market finds and am now popping over to see what other people found. To do the same, visit Sophie at Her Library Adventures.

When I'm out shopping it never occurs to me to buy drawer liners but the thought of gardenia-fragrant clothing has made me want to rush to the nearest store to buy some!
Great finds!

Great finds, Thea! I have lots of beautiful paper given to me by students. I think it is a great present. Lisa x

You found some great items Thea! I've never seen scented drawer liners. Now I must find some!
Lovely finds Thea - and you are so right, nothing beats a hand written letter or note and when the paper is gorgeous to boot - HEAVEN! I can't use fragrant liners for my clothes - I have tried but they always make me itch! I have used them as giftwrap though!
Lovely finds Thea, Your arms must have been laden down with this great haul. Gorgeous ideas!
Cheers, Pam
Hi Thea, As much as we all like to do everything the fast way these days I don't think anything will ever replace the feeling of receiving a hand written note in the post. Great finds. x
Hi Thea
Lovely finds.
You are so right, I can't remember the last time I sat and hand wrote a letter, seems an effort to even hand write a birthday card, very sad really.
I have a lovely customer, who when she buys a painting and receives it, she sends me a beautiful hand written card...the old fashioned way...in the letter box!
I'm also a sucker for drawer linners.
Love the paper! Those will be fun to use. Have a great week!
I would be happy too, great finds!
you know ? it’s funny, but sometimes i go all sad when i find stationary like so. it does remind me of a not too long ago era of letter writing (which i enjoyed a lot, hence me being moved when seeing it and remembering).
ps – and now i’m looking up barkcloth. you have me wondering.
What great finds! I do love gorgeous writing paper, though must confess I've been quite bad at using it of late...
Oh I have a feeling of deja vu. I used to own some of those stationary sets. Used to write a lot of letters- such a shame we dont do that as much now...
Ohhh gorgeous treasures! Yes letter writing is a dying art but like most of what's going on now it will probably make a comeback! Hope you have a wonderful week.xo
