Friday Follower - Nicky

I delighted to present Nicky Flood, this week's Friday Follower, to you as someone who is passionate about organic clothing and products for children.

Nicky has sourced some of the best brands from Europe and elsewhere to ensure that your darlings are not only decked out in style but in a manner that is safe for both them and our environment. Read on to find out more:

What is the name of your business and where did it come from?
"Mulberry Tree Organic" – It came from a lot of scribbling. I wanted the business name to tell a story - you can read that story on my blog.

L'asticot polo shirts

What do you sell?
Unique and beautiful quality organic clothing, sleepwear and accessories for children 0-5 years.

What inspired you to start Mulberry Tree Organic?

I wanted to create a business that benefits everyone, from the farmer to the child that wears the clothes. I only stock brands that are Fairtrade and therefore my clients are not only buying the best products for their child or friends but they can also feel good that they are also supporting fair-trade families and communities.

Is your business your full-time job?
It started out as full-time but I found that it was too stressful, trying to support myself and the business in the start-up phase. I now work for my brother in his business 2 days a week which has worked really well for both of us.

Where can we purchase your products?
You can purchase online at www.mulberrytree.organic.com or if you are in Melbourne, you can find me at children’s markets - details are on my blog.

Would you share something interesting about you that isn't common knowledge?
I was a full boarder at boarding school in Northern Ireland from the age of 8 to 13. My parents are both Irish and lived and worked in Saudi Arabia. Not sure if that is interesting but it isn’t common knowledge.

Thanks Nicky, I think that's very interesting. Do visit Nicky at her blog or website.
