Last night I attended the opening of the Reincarnated Kimono Project Exhibition and was truly wowed! Congratulations to Melanie Gray Augustin who coordinated the project and to the fellow Brisbanites who participated - you really are a talented bunch!It was difficult to take great photos among the crowd and with the evening lighting so the following is only a taste of the various interpretations that arose from using a piece of vintage kimono fabric.

Hanasho, the space where the exhibition is displayed is a lovely florist and gift shop with beautiful things made from natural materials such as these lamps and the branch sculptures you see suspended from the ceiling in the image at the top of this post.You really must check out the exhibition for yourself. Oh I am going to try so hard to come up for a look! I bought a few kimono items in Japan last year and I adore those vibrant fabric designs! So so pretty.... Those bags look amazing! X

What an interesting exhibition. Your print is divine Thea - I love the mix of colours and the way you've woven the two cultures together. Looks very complicated, but gorgeous. Many things there caught my eye. So much talent here!
