Welcome to my blog! I am a textile designer and fabric printer who lives and works in Brisbane, Australia. We design and hand screen-print natural fabrics and create linen homewares.
You may see and find our products on my website, through selected stockists and now in our studio shop. Find us at Unit 1, 6 Jones Road, Capalaba QLD 4157
Now I can reveal the other exciting half of my Melbourne weekend; I participated in a wallpaper printing class hosted by Harvest Textiles and taught by Clare Vuletich, an Australian textile designer based in London.
For me personally, the best thing about the class was to have a day devoted to designing, at long last! I didn't have time to prepare any designs before the class, something I ask my own students to do, so was quite pleased with the results. This is my cut stencil ready to be printed.
These abstract roses were designed in 2 minutes flat and need to be developed further but it's a start, right?
I have been thinking about roses a lot lately and this is another design that I would like to play around with. I am taking a week off in November just to relax and work on new fabric designs so am already inspired.
I hand-painted the background before printing my second strip of wallpaper to add some texture. I just used the screen-printing ink, the same that we use for printing on our fabrics - Permaset.
This is my stencil drying, after printing. I like the negative design too. Which do you prefer?
There were 8 people in the class and here are some of the wallpapers on display with Clare in the foreground. To see more images from the class, visit the Harvest Textiles blog here.
Good news! Harvest Textiles are teaching future wallpaper as well as their usual fabric printing classes so you can check those out here.
