We've returned from the loveliest break in the countryside where we took time to smell the roses (they were everywhere) and to recharge our batteries.
We stayed at Glen Robin, a sweet farm cottage just a few kilometres from Stanthorpe. It was so peaceful and the hosts were wonderful. You can check it out here. Dogs (and kids) are welcome!
Zoe smelling the roses.
This was our backyard.
I was so sad to leave and will miss the friendly neighbours seen on our country walks. I quite enjoyed doing nothing and was happy that I finished my needlepoint cushion front. What a luxury it was to craft purely for pleasure.
I already miss the sweet resident ponies, Velvet and Chester.
I think Zoe misses them too as she has been moping around the house ever since our return.
Yes, that is one happy vacationing dog. Sorry for all the dog pics but as empty nesters - she is our child substitute.
I have to get back to work now and it's not easy, let me tell you. I have returned from this break determined to work less next year so am training someone to take over some of my duties right now. I hope you aren't working too hard either.
