The Guest Room

There's no Friday Follower to post today because hey, I'm not even here. This week's blog posts are coming to you courtesy of robo-blogger.

I thought I would show you our guest room as it's pretty much the only room in our house that's (kind of) ready. The guest room has a regular visitor - me. I just love that it's girly and quiet to sleep in with no snorers boys allowed.

My thrifty picture find looks quite at home above the bed. The bedside table on the right is this one and the one on the left is an Ikea table that I can flat pack and use at trade shows too. I didn't want matching bedside tables.

The peacock lamps are the perfect size for bedtime reading. I blogged about my vintage scales and picture here.

This is how the lampshade looks like when lit.

I've been able to furnish this room on a budget so far as the quilt also cost me nada! I was lucky enough to win it at a charity luncheon a couple of years ago. I love it but now want to have a quilt made for our master king-sized bed using our own fabrics. Are there any quilters out there who could help? I'm always opened to bartering too :)

Have a great weekend! x

I instantly thought I like the way the tables don't match. Mine don't either. It's a great room, very relaxing, and cool (temperature) colours, for respite. Certainly feminine! x robo-blog sounds so masculine.

It's beautiful. I like that the side tables don't match, that's my thing too :) and the lamps look so nice when lit - the whole room is dreamy - well done.

Hi Thea, This easy quilt pattern might be a nice way to 'showcase' your lovely fabrics in a quilt. http://www.larkcrafts.com/needlearts/free-project-friday-shoo-fly-quilt/

Beautiful guest room Thea. I love the lamp shades, they finish off the whole picture - a calm and serene retreat.

The guest room looks so lovely. I'm pretty sure I've seen the print hanging on the wall somewhere before.... perhaps something similar was on a wall at my house before I renovated... maybe it's still in the garage.

Robo-blog does sound masculine, doesn't it. We will have to call it autoblogger or something. Thanks for the quilting ideas but I know my limitations as far as time and ability goes so will leave it to an expert to do :)
