The Guest Room

There's no Friday Follower to post today because hey, I'm not even here. This week's blog posts are coming to you courtesy of robo-blogger.

I thought I would show you our guest room as it's pretty much the only room in our house that's (kind of) ready. The guest room has a regular visitor - me. I just love that it's girly and quiet to sleep in with no snorers boys allowed.

My thrifty picture find looks quite at home above the bed. The bedside table on the right is this one and the one on the left is an Ikea table that I can flat pack and use at trade shows too. I didn't want matching bedside tables.

The peacock lamps are the perfect size for bedtime reading. I blogged about my vintage scales and picture here.

This is how the lampshade looks like when lit.

I've been able to furnish this room on a budget so far as the quilt also cost me nada! I was lucky enough to win it at a charity luncheon a couple of years ago. I love it but now want to have a quilt made for our master king-sized bed using our own fabrics. Are there any quilters out there who could help? I'm always opened to bartering too :)

Have a great weekend! x

Love and Lampshades

On my recent Sydney trip, I visited the most adorable little shop in Rozelle. Melinda Love is the pictured interior designer who owns and operates the eponymous shop. She makes exquisite lampshades paired with gorgeous bases and a lovely range of cushions is also on offer.

I'm happy to announce that Thea & Sami has just shipped some custom-printed fabric to the store to be used as lampshades. I can't wait to see what Melinda does but I will be giving you a sneak preview of what we printed soon.

Visit Melinda Love from Thursdays to Saturdays at 739 Darling Street (it's true) in Rozelle. Check out her website for more images and information.

Since tomorrow is Good Friday and a holiday, my Friday Follower column will resume again next week. If you are going away for the long weekend, stay safe!
