My studio and I were the subjects for a Home Beautiful photo shoot today, one of my favourite magazines.
John Downs, the photographer, took the most beautiful images and kindly allowed me to veto any that I didn't quite like.
Check out John's website if you are looking for a product photographer or wish to hire a studio for your own use in Brisbane.
Bronwyn McNulty, the journalist, and I had a lovely informal chat while enjoying our baguette lunch once the photo formalities were over.
I've become obsessed with painting everything white. It's hard to stop once you start. I had the husband painting the window frames but unfortunately I had to do the second coat myself yesterday as someone conveniently got sick :(
I finished painting the fabric shelves yesterday too. They look better in white, right? Don't be fooled as I didn't bother sanding them first as I figured that with using a tiler/laminate primer that I wouldn't need to. Wrong! The laminate paint scratches off very easily so don't take short-cuts like I did if you try it. I will have to retouch before our Morning Tea next week.
I'm not sure when the magazine article will appear but I will let you know once I do. Thanks to John and Bronwyn for today!

How exciting! The white shelves set off the fabric and shades.
Congratulations Thea - it's my favourite home mag as well. And who doesn't love white? Gorgeous!
Well done. Looking forward to seeing you in the mag in a couple of months:)
Your studio looks amazing, I love that everything has been painted white, that's exactly what I'd love to do.
Home Beautiful is one of my favourite magazines and I'm so so excited that you and all your gorgeous goodies will be featured.
Was thinking about you yesterday and so glad to see it went well. Love the white!
How exciting! Home Beautiful is one of my faves to, you must feel so incredibly proud. Saw some of your products at the most gorgeous new gift shop at Samford on Tuesday, Urban Dweller. So nice...
Thea, I understand about an obsession to paint everything white. Your shelves look so much better.

Congratulations, how wonderful for you. The white looks fabulous. I too have succumbed to white. My whole exterior of the house is even getting a makeover.
Thea - how exciting! Can't wait to see you in Home Beautiful :) Yes, the general consensus seems right, about painting everything white - I like it too and a famous artist (I forget which one) insisted on all his frames being white as it allowed the art to be the focus of the viewer.
How exciting - congratulations! The shop looks lovely. I must pop over one Saturday soon to check it out. Can't wait to see/read about it in Home Beautiful - one of my fave mags too! Ange
