According to Wikipedia, 'Upcycling' is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value.
I will include "ugly" in the definition which, in my opinion, is what this vintage ceramic lamp was when I found it. 
After a good clean, a couple of coats of ceramic paint and a Thea & Sami hand-printed lampshade, I think it looks quite modern, don't you think?

Well you just went & made that look a million dollars, wow, awesome work & styling babe. There is also the ugly side after repurposing/ upcycling some things, you have a true skill. Oh & today i got a parcel of cottons & zippers, thanks gorgeous girl, love it all, too sweet, adore. Love Posie
