Aqualicious in the Press

I'm loving the new Queensland Homes Summer issue and our Fretwork Lampshade in Aqualicious has been featured on Page 38.

I'm thoroughly amused by seeing a word that I made up (aqualicious) in print.

Speaking of lampshades, we've sent out quite a few lately so do keep in mind that we can have them custom-made for you in any size or shape (even rectangular) from any of our hand-printed fabrics.

Bedside Lamps in French Checks.

Fretwork lampshade in Blue Marine.

Order your lampshades directly from our on-line store. Some styles may be in stock.

Allyson's Living Room

I just love roman blinds especially after seeing this beauty hanging in Allyson's Brisbane home. Allyson is one of our lovely customers and chose our Cottage Garden organic jacquard fabric in Rouge (now on sale) for her blind.

The large drum lampshade features the Thea & Sami Hydrangea print on natural linen which lends a modern look to Allyson's existing vintage lamp stand.

The coordinating cushion (on chair) was sewn from the same Hydrangea linen by Allyson's friend Lisa who also made the blind. You may also purchase the linen cushions ready-made.

Thanks Allyson for kindly sharing these images with us. I can't wait to have my own blinds made!

Upcycled Vintage Lamp

I love upcycling.

According to Wikipedia, 'Upcycling' is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value.

I will include "ugly" in the definition which, in my opinion, is what this vintage ceramic lamp was when I found it.

After a good clean, a couple of coats of ceramic paint and a Thea & Sami hand-printed lampshade, I think it looks quite modern, don't you think?

Or perhaps you prefer the look of a larger lampshade? Both shades feature our best-selling 'Marguerite' design on natural flax linen. I have created a page on our website for upcycled vintage lamps that I hope to find and list from time to time including this one and only lamp base.

Showing the versatility of our drum-shaped lamp shades, this is the large lampshade paired with a vintage lamp stand. See with our Brisbane City screen print and my retro armchair that is upholstered with Red Fretwork hemp/organic cotton.

This blog post has been recreated by me to the best of my memory because I can now longer wait in hope that Blogger will return the original post that vanished yesterday.
