Peacocks & Pom Poms

My 12 year old niece squealed with delight when I gifted her with our first Peacock Pom-Poms cushion for Christmas.

Photographing products isn't always straightforward. Floppy pom poms had to brought to attention; this is where thread and washi tape (my beloved) came in handy.

If you like the cushion, you can get one here (with free shipping).

My Living Room Art

It's amazing how a little wall art can make a room that much prettier. I'm so pleased to finally have some on my living room walls.

My art rule is that everything has to be vintage or hand-made in some way and local is very good. Bird cushion is by Anna Bartlett over at Shiny Happy Art.

Mmm, I never meant to have so many birds in my collection but it has somehow evolved that way. Art work includes vintage needlepoints purchased from Etsy and the piece (on right) purchased from Mondo Cherry.

Look Kerri, I finally have your artwork framed and hung! I had to photograph the prints from this angle to avoid too much glass reflection.

I also like Kerri's art framed here in floating frames which I didn't know existed until now. This photo is from Home Beautiful where it's been featured this month. Visit Driftwood Interiors to see more of Kerri's work.

Decorating doesn't seem so overwhelming if you just do a little at at time.

Blue Wren Cushion

Yesterday was a terrible day for screen-printing. The damp weather meant that inks just didn't want to dry. Napkins put through the textile dryer were still coming out wet. And I couldn't take any product photos because my studio is too dark without the sunlight coming in through the skylights. So frustrating!

Now would be a good time to share my new cushion acquisition with you. The Blue Wren parlour cushion by Shiny Happy Art is so sweet and I thought that I better hurry up and buy one as it was a limited edition of only 16.

It will complement my cross-stitched Robin cushion. You can never have enough cushions, right? Once the living room painting and curtains are done, I will choose some from our own range too.

If you think you're pretty special at wrapping your mail orders, then what do you think of this? It's the envelope that contained the wren cushion. That Anna Barlett is such a show-off. Yes, you can draw AB!

You can never have enough book marks either, I say. Thanks Anna!
